==History==

Bhagawan Super Market is managed by Gedela Shiva Shankara Rao, who was born on 15 August 1957 in Batla Penumarru Village, Movva Mandal, Krishna District, Andhra Pradesh.

He comes from an agricultural labour family. His mother passed away when he was seven years old, after which he was unable to continue his education. From the age of seven, he worked in sweet shops, factories, and oil mills, where he learned the art of sweet making.

On 1 April 1977, he moved to Bhadrachalam along with his younger sister. Although he could not complete his education during childhood, he later completed a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree after the age of fifty.

He married Prabhavathi on 18 August 1978.

==Business Journey==

Gedela Shiva Shankara Rao has been associated with the sweet shop business for more than 50 years.

In 2008, along with a few friends, he established Vizag Institute of Technology in Visakhapatnam. Due to government-related challenges and financial losses of nearly ₹20 crore, the institution was handed over to new management in 2022.

He also served as the Vice Chairman of Abdul Kalam Engineering College in Kothagudem.

At present, he manages Bhagawan Super Market in Bhadrachalam. The business also continues its long-standing sweet shop operations and provides employment to around 40 people.

==Social Service==

Through the GPGSR Trust, Gedela Shiva Shankara Rao sponsors the education of underprivileged children and provides financial assistance to people in need whenever possible.

==Personal Life==

Gedela Shiva Shankara Rao is married to Prabhavathi.

They have a son, Dr. Kranthi Kumar, a Cardiac Doctor working at STAR Hospital, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad, and a daughter, Dr. Vivarna, a Gynecologist working at GITAM. His son-in-law, Dr. Rambabu, is a Pediatrician, and his daughter-in-law, Dr. Priyanka, is a Radiologist.

The family previously owned a 60-bed hospital in Bhadrachalam, which was later leased out when Dr. Kranthi Kumar pursued his DM specialization.

His son has two children, Srinika and Praneel Tej. His daughter has one son, Himanish, who is studying in the 4th standard.

Gedela Shiva Shankara Rao believes in hard work, perseverance, and helping others. Despite facing hardships from childhood, he worked nearly 20 hours a day with determination to build a better future. Following the death of his mother and his father's second marriage, he also took responsibility for the upbringing and marriages of his stepmother's three children.
