Punam Gupta was born on 24 February 1973 in Mohali, Punjab, India. Her parents are Sh. Rajinder Kumar and Mrs. Kanta Vij. She grew up in Ambala, Haryana, where she completed her early education. Gupta earned a law degree (LLB) from CCSU University, Meerut, and also holds diplomas in Mass Communication, Food and Nutrition, and PGDCA.

== Career ==
Punam Gupta is an accomplished entrepreneur and social worker with significant contributions in the fields of food safety, health, and entrepreneurship. She is the founder of Together We Can Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to organ donation, food safety, cybersecurity, water conservation, and other social welfare initiatives. 

She also serves as the Director of Immuno Life Pvt. Ltd., which focuses on Ayurvedic products, Herbal Cosmetics, Vet, Pet Feed Supplements and nutraceuticals, and Quality Services and Training Pvt. Ltd., which specializes in FSSAI licensing and food safety training. In addition, Punam Gupta is the Proprietor of Octa Life Sciences, a company operating under the PMEGP scheme, and has been recognized for her entrepreneurial achievements.

Punam Gupta is a certified Lead Auditor and  a Trainer of FOSTAC under the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI). She has been involved in training thousands of professionals in food safety and hygiene across India.
