Early Life

Dr Rahul Devraj was born on 29 March 1996 in Mandenakoppa, a village in the Shivamogga district of Karnataka, India. He was born into a farming family. His father, Devraj S. Mandenkoppa, is a farmer and social worker, and his mother, Hemavathi S., is a bank employee.

Education

Dr Rahul Devraj completed his early schooling at Vasavi Vidyalaya, before pursuing his pre-university Science education at PACE Ultra Modern P.U. College, Shivamogga. He pursued medicine at Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore, and further expanded his qualifications through multiple postgraduate and fellowship programmes:

Career

Dr Rahul Devraj began his career as a medical officer, serving at Hithala and Shikaripura before being posted as a Government Medical Officer at Shikaripur and Shivamogga from 2019 to 2023. He currently serves as a medical officer at the Urban Health Centre, Shivamogga, and practices as a physician at Sri Raghavendra Clinic.

Known popularly as the "50 Rupees Doctor," he operates a clinic in Kumsi village, Karnataka, offering affordable medical consultation at just ₹50 to villagers. He provided medical aid to the people of Kodagu and Kerala during the 2018 landslides, and has provided nutritional support to hundreds of tuberculosis patients.

During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Dr Rahul Devraj was recognized for using music therapy to treat patients, earning him the distinction of being listed by the International Book of Records as the youngest doctor to use music therapy to treat COVID patients.

As a Kannada motivational speaker and storyteller, he has influenced lakhs of people through social media with his powerful style of narrating stories touching on health, education, and life transformation. He is regarded as one of Karnataka's best Kannada storytellers and motivational speakers, and has guided many through his public addresses to youth and students.
