After resigning from his job in Gujarat and returning to his home district of Balaghat, Bhuvan Singh Koram observed the many challenges faced by his community due to a lack of education. This prompted him to take an interest in social work. He dedicated himself to a mission of raising awareness about education, health, and constitutional rights, launching a campaign that reached all areas of the district. Recognizing his efforts, the community entrusted him with a leadership role, appointing him as the General Secretary of the Madhya Pradesh Tribal Development Council (Balaghat).


He has spearheaded struggles addressing numerous issues faced by the tribal community—including atrocities, exploitation, and battles over Jal, Jungle, Zameen (water, forest, and land rights)—as well as opposing unjust actions by the Revenue and Forest Departments and addressing the problem of Naxalite activities and arbitrary police operations in the district.
