Dr Sobin K Thomas

Dr Sobin K Thomas is an Indian humanitarian leader, former Indian Army soldier, and social entrepreneur. He is the Founder and Chairman of Sobin’s Greens Charitable Trust, a pan-India social initiative focused on food security, healthcare, education, and livelihood development.

With over 18 years of service in the Indian Army (2003–2021), he later transitioned into full-time social leadership, combining military discipline with grassroots humanitarian work.

Early Life

Dr Sobin K Thomas was born in Kerala, India, and hails from Manikkadavu, Iritty, Kannur district. He was raised in a values-driven environment that emphasized discipline, service, and compassion.

Military Career

Dr Sobin joined the Indian Army in his early twenties and served for 18 years in strategic and high-risk locations including South Block (Delhi) and Missamari (Assam).

Turning Point

In 2015, while serving at South Block, Delhi, he witnessed extreme poverty in the capital. On 9 January 2016, he chose to celebrate his birthday by feeding homeless children near India Gate.

This act marked the beginning of his humanitarian journey and led to the formation of Sobin’s Greens Charitable Trust.
