Rtn Dr Murali Krishnan began his career in the field of construction, later moving into the manufacturing of Integrated Special Purpose Machines (SPM) for various industries. During the 1980s, he entered the field of power electronics, signing a strategic contract with LAMBDA, UK, for manufacturing power electronics, and started a company in Pondicherry for manufacturing SMPS. He was also involved in leather manufacturing with exports to Italy and France, and re-engineered the Dot Matrix print head, extending the lifespan of printers in India and various European countries. He was recognized for forex activities in 1985–86.

He later entered the field of IT manufacturing and has been associated with Intel as a partner for three decades, serving as part of the Advisory Board of Directors Committee for Intel. He is also a former Board of Director for HPC, a Patron of the Indian Chamber of Commerce, a Patron of AIT (Associate Information Technology) and FIDAK, and is associated with the RPA & RPES Educational Trust.

Rotary and Community Service

Rtn Dr Murali Krishnan joined Rotary in 1989 and left due to vocational commitments in 2002, before rejoining his home club, Rotary Bangalore West, on 3 June 2019, as Chairman of its Satellite club. He later became the Charter President of Rotary Bangalore Gulmohar in 2021–22, winning district awards including Best Club under the new club category.

He is credited with constructing the Rotary Silver Jubilee Hall in a record time of 45 days, and has served in various positions within the club, including Secretary during the club's silver jubilee year. He has served the district for more than 8 years in various capacities, including Conference Promotion Chairman, Conference Stall In-charge, District Sergeant-at-Arms, DRCC, and Happy School initiatives.

Philanthropy

Rtn Dr Murali Krishnan has been instrumental in identifying, studying, renovating, and restoring old schools and temples that are time-immemorial buildings in Tiptur, Karnataka. He has donated books, bags, tables, and chairs to educational institutions in rural areas, supported the construction of comfort stations, and focused on girl child education.

He has also worked on identifying old temples, monuments, and government schools requiring renovation, interacting with government officials and villagers on educational needs and children's health welfare schemes, and has been involved in the renovation of lakes and afforestation drives. He proposed setting up an eye hospital offering operations at affordable pricing, as well as incubation centres in rural areas.

Personal Achievements

Rtn Dr Murali Krishnan is a paratrooper of Batch 77 and a Gold Medalist for Five Night Jumps. He represented the Republic Day Parade in 1978 and has represented the country in skydiving.
