Dr Ramkishore Panwar is an Indian journalist and author based in Betul, Madhya Pradesh. He has been involved in journalism for more than four decades, writing and publishing regularly across a wide range of regional, state, and national newspapers and magazines since 1978.
Early Life
Dr Ramkishore Panwar was born on 23 May 1964 in Village Rondha, District Betul, Madhya Pradesh. He is the son of the late Shri Dayaram Panwar.
Career
Dr Ramkishore Panwar began writing letters regularly to regional and Vidarbha Hindi daily newspapers in 1978. His journalism career has since spanned correspondent, bureau, and editorial roles across numerous publications.
He served as Correspondent for the weekly Prabhat Kiran, Indore, in Pathakhera from 1980 to 1983, and as Pathakheda Correspondent for the Vidarbha daily Yugadharma, Nagpur, from 1980 to 1989. He worked with Dainik Swadesh (Bhopal and Gwalior) from 1982 to 1985, Dainik Bhaskar (Bhopal, Jabalpur, and Indore) from 1983 to 1985, Dainik Jagran, Bhopal, from 1985 to 1987, Navbharat, Nagpur, from 1988 to 1990, and Nagpur Times, an English daily, from 1986 to 1987.
He has worked with The Hitavada, Nagpur, since 1989, continuing through to the present. He also worked with Dainik Navbharat (Bhopal and Nagpur) from 1992 to 1993, and has served as the Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh bureau correspondent for the monthly Vision Today since 2000.
From 1998 to 2004, he worked as a correspondent for Madhur Katha, Delhi, in Betul, and from 1998 to 2002 as the Betul correspondent for Sachchi Duniya, Delhi. Between 1990 and 2004, he wrote for a range of additional publications, including Dainik Phir Nai Rah (Bhopal), Dainik Afkar (Bhopal), the national weekly Panchjanya (Delhi), Dainik Deshbandhu (Bhopal), the monthly Karma Yudgh (Indore), the monthly War (Indore), the weekly Man Ki Chaal (Indore), the Hindi weekly Deler Samachar (Delhi), Dainik Alok (Bhopal), Dainik Express News (Bhopal), Express Media Service (Bhopal), Sina News Agency (Bhopal), the weekly First Pahal (Bhopal), and the weekly Advertising World (Nagpur).
Since 2004, he has served as Official Correspondent for the national Hindi daily Punjab Kesari, Delhi. He has been recognized as a preferred journalist by the Government of Madhya Pradesh.
Since 2013, Dr Ramkishore Panwar has published the weekly newspaper Tapti Husla from Bhopal, and he also publishes the Hindi daily newspaper Dainik Tapi Darshan from Betul district.
Beyond his newspaper affiliations, he has contributed independent writing to numerous Hindi magazines and publications, including Kadambini (Delhi), Navneet (Mumbai), the Delhi Press Publications titles Saras Salil, Grihshobha, Champak, Mukta, and Sarita, the fortnightly Fourth Dimension (New Delhi), the Hindi fortnightly Outlook (Delhi), the Hindi fortnightly Senior India (Delhi), Mitra Prakashan (Allahabad), Nai Sadi Prakashan (Delhi), and Dainik Jagran Satyakatha (Bhopal). His true-crime and story writing has also appeared in numerous monthly publications, including Nominated Stories, Current, Vision Today, Nutan Kahaniyaan, Sachchi Kahaniyaan, Kusum Parakh (Allahabad), Meri Saheli (Mumbai), Crime Sahitya Ki Super Top Story, True Stories, Alok Satyakatha (Bhopal), Grihalakshmi, Diamond Illustrated Satya Katha, Sachchi Dunya, and Crime Stories, all based in Delhi unless otherwise noted, along with regular articles and reportage in publications including Madhuri, Mumbai.
Organisational Work
Dr Ramkishore Panwar has held several leadership roles in journalism and civic organisations. He is a National Working Committee Member of the Indian Federation of Working Journalists (IFWJ), Delhi, and State Secretary of the Indian Federation of Working Journalists, Madhya Pradesh State Unit. He serves as Vice President of the District Press Club, Betul, and of the Kshatriya Panwar Samaj Sangathan, Betul.
He is the founder of the Betul District Navayuvak Panwar Samaj Jagrati Manch and of Rohini, both registered by the Government of Madhya Pradesh. He has served as District Coordinator of the Betul District Environment Protection Committee, registered by the Government of Madhya Pradesh, and as a former member of the Betul District Environment Agency Union, under the Ministry of Environment, Government of India. He is State President of the Maa Suryaputri Tapti Jagruti Samiti, Madhya Pradesh, and State Vice President of the RTI Activist Forum, Madhya Pradesh, both registered by the Government of Madhya Pradesh.
Publications
Dr Ramkishore Panwar has authored five books, including a journalism research book titled "Baitulvi Journalism"; a research book on Betul titled "Mera Betul"; a research book titled "Ajab Gaon Ki Gajab Dastan" (Amazing Stories of a Strange Village); and a short story collection titled "Kaala Gulab" (Black Rose).
