Dr Ramkishore Panwar is an Indian journalist and author based in Betul, Madhya Pradesh. He has been involved in journalism for more than four decades, writing and publishing regularly across a wide range of regional, state, and national newspapers and magazines since 1978.
Early Life
Dr Ramkishore Panwar was born on 23 May 1964 in Village Rondha, District Betul, Madhya Pradesh. He is the son of the late Shri Dayaram Panwar.
Career
Dr Ramkishore Panwar began writing letters regularly to regional and Vidarbha Hindi daily newspapers in 1978. His journalism career has since spanned correspondent, bureau, and editorial roles across numerous publications.
He served as Correspondent for the weekly Prabhat Kiran, Indore, in Pathakheda from 1980 to 1983, and as Pathakheda Correspondent for the Vidarbha daily Yugadharma, Nagpur, from 1980 to 1989. He worked with Dainik Swadesh (Bhopal and Gwalior) from 1982 to 1985, Dainik Bhaskar (Bhopal, Jabalpur, and Indore) from 1983 to 1985, Dainik Jagran, Bhopal, from 1985 to 1987, Navbharat, Nagpur, from 1988 to 1990, and Nagpur Times, an English daily, from 1986 to 1987.
He worked with The Hitwad, Nagpur, from 1989 to 1991, and has again been associated with the publication from 2023 to the present. He also worked with Dainik Navbharat (Bhopal and Nagpur) from 1992 to 1993, and has served as the Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh bureau correspondent for the monthly Vision Today since 2000.
From 1998 to 2004, he worked as a representative for the monthly Madhur Kathayen, Delhi, in Betul, and from 1998 to 2002 as the Betul representative for Sachchi Duniya, Delhi. Between 1990 and 2004, and continuing since 1980 up to the present, he has written for a range of additional publications, including Dainik Phir Nai Rah (Bhopal), Dainik Afkar (Bhopal), the national weekly Panchad (Delhi), Dainik Deshbandhu (Bhopal), the monthly Karmayudh (Indore), the monthly Dharmayudh (Indore), the weekly Man Ki Chaal (Indore), the Hindi weekly Deler Samachar (Delhi), Dainik Alok (Bhopal), Dainik Express News (Bhopal), Express Media Service (Bhopal), Saina News Agency (Bhopal), the weekly Pehle Pehal (Bhopal), and the weekly Vigyapan Ki Duniya (Nagpur).
Since 2004, he has served as Official Correspondent for the national Hindi daily Punjab Kesari, Delhi. He has been recognized as an accredited journalist by the Government of Madhya Pradesh.
Since 2013, Dr Ramkishore Panwar has published the weekly newspaper Tapti Halchal from Bhopal, and he also publishes the Hindi daily newspaper Dainik Tapi Darshan from Betul district.
Beyond his newspaper affiliations, he has contributed independent writing to numerous Hindi magazines and publications, including Kadambini (Delhi), Navneet (Mumbai), the Delhi Press publications Saras Salil, Grihshobha, Champak, Mukta, and Sarita, the fortnightly Fourth Dimension (New Delhi), the Hindi fortnightly Outlook (Delhi), the Hindi fortnightly Senior India (Delhi), Mitra Prakashan's Satyakatha and Manorama (Allahabad), Nai Sadi Prakashan's Madhur Kathayen and Crime and Detective (Delhi), and Dainik Jagran's Satyakatha (Bhopal). His story and true-crime writing has also appeared in numerous monthly publications, including Manoneet Kahaniyan, Current, Vision Today, Nutan Kahaniyan, Sachchi Kahaniyan, Kusum Parakh (Allahabad), Meri Saheli (Mumbai), Crime Sahitya Ki Super Top Story, Sacche Kisse, Alok Satyakatha (Bhopal), Grihlakshmi, Diamond Sachitra Satyakatha, Sachchi Duniya, and Apradh Kathayen, all based in Delhi unless otherwise noted, along with regular articles and reportage in numerous other reputed newspapers and magazines across the country, including Madhuri, Mumbai. Hundreds of his stories have been published to date.
Organisational Work
Dr Ramkishore Panwar has held several leadership roles in journalism and civic organisations. He is a National Working Committee Member of the Indian Federation of Working Journalists (IFWJ), Delhi, and State Secretary of the Indian Federation of Working Journalists, Madhya Pradesh State Unit. He serves as President of the District Press Club, Betul, and of the Kshatriya Panwar Samaj Sangathan, Betul.
He is the founder of the Betul District Navyuvak Panwar Samaj Jagriti Manch and of Rohini, both registered with the Government of Madhya Pradesh. He has served as District Coordinator of the Betul District Environment Protection Committee, registered with the Government of Madhya Pradesh, and as a former member of the Betul District Environment Vahini, constituted by the Union Ministry of Environment, Government of India, and operated by the Government of Madhya Pradesh. He is State President of the Maa Suryaputri Tapti Jagriti Samiti, Madhya Pradesh, and State Vice President of the RTI Activist Forum, Madhya Pradesh, both registered with the Government of Madhya Pradesh.
Publications
Dr Ramkishore Panwar has authored five books, including a research book on journalism titled "Betulvi Patrakarita"; a research book on Betul titled "Mera Betul"; a research book titled "Ajab Gaon Ki Gajab Dastaan" (The Amazing Tale of a Strange Village); a short story collection titled "Kaala Gulab"; and an upcoming title, "Betulvi Sahakarita Ka Suhana Safar."
Additional forthcoming works include "Nadiyon Ka Naneehal," "Mera Gaon Meri Sarkar," "Meri Antim Yatra," and "Parikrama."
