Narendra Modi
Narendra Modi (born 17 September 1950) is an Indian politician serving as the 14th and current Prime Minister of India since 26 May 2014. He is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), a Hindu nationalist volunteer organization. Modi previously served as the Chief Minister of Gujarat from 2001 to 2014.
Early Life and Education
Narendra Modi was born in Vadnagar, a small town in Gujarat. He comes from a modest family and helped his father sell tea during childhood. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Delhi and later a Master’s degree in Political Science from Gujarat University.
Political Career
Modi began his political journey with the RSS and later joined the BJP. He rose to prominence after becoming the Chief Minister of Gujarat in 2001. His governance in Gujarat was marked by rapid economic development, though not without controversies.
In 2014, Modi led the BJP to a historic victory in the general elections and became the Prime Minister. He was re-elected in 2019 with an even larger mandate.
