Rajendra Lakhichand Nannaware is an Indian environmentalist, educator, conservationist, creative writer, and social worker based in Maharashtra. He serves as Sr Area Head for the Khandesh, Marathwada, and Vidarbha regions at SIP Academy India and has worked across education, environmental awareness, nature conservation, and social development.
Early Life
Rajendra Lakhichand Nannaware was born on 2nd December 1968 in Jalgaon, Maharashtra, India.
Education
Rajendra Lakhichand Nannaware holds qualifications in MCom, MSW, and Journalism. He is also a PhD applicant.
Career
Rajendra Lakhichand Nannaware has dedicated more than two decades to education, experiential learning, nature conservation, and social development.
He has been associated with SIP Academy India for nearly twenty years, where he has played a significant role in developing the Khandesh and Marathwada regions. SIP Academy India is a children's skill development organization that focuses on enhancing the mental potential, arithmetic skills, and creative abilities of children aged 5 to 15 years.
Founded in August 2003 by Dinesh Victor, an alumnus of IIT Bombay and IIM Ahmedabad, SIP Academy India operates from its corporate headquarters in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The organization has expanded across 23 states and partners with more than 1,000 schools nationwide, having trained more than 10 to 16 lakh children.
He initiated the School of Environment and Nature Conservation for Children to encourage scientific curiosity and ecological sensitivity among young learners. He has also developed curricula relating to biodiversity, environmental awareness, and nature education.
Environmental Education and Conservation
Rajendra Lakhichand Nannaware has worked in environmental education and nature conservation, with a focus on increasing ecological awareness among children and communities.
His conservation work includes efforts relating to the Satpuda landscape and wildlife corridors in Maharashtra. He initiated the Save Satpuda campaign to raise awareness and encourage community and institutional participation in ecosystem protection.
He also pioneered the One Village, One Forest programme, which promotes Miyawaki forests in villages and urban areas of Khandesh. The programme involves community participation and ecological restoration in collaboration with institutions including SIP Academy, KBC North Maharashtra University, and Jalgaon Municipal Corporation.

Rajendra Lakhichand Nannaware has engaged with government agencies and committees relating to environment, wildlife, and biodiversity.
He has contributed grassroots experience and educational perspectives through associations with bodies including the Regional Empowered Committee of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, the Wildlife Action Plan Task Force of Maharashtra, and District Biodiversity Committees.
He was appointed by the Governor of Maharashtra as a member of the Management Council of KBC North Maharashtra University.
