Career
Rajendra Nannaware has dedicated more than two decades to education, experiential learning, nature conservation, and social development. He has been associated with SIP Academy India for nearly twenty years, where he has played a significant role in developing the Khandesh and Marathwada regions. His work focuses on moving education beyond traditional classrooms through experiential, inquiry-based, and nature-centric methodologies.
He initiated the School of Environment and Nature Conservation for Children to foster scientific curiosity and ecological sensitivity among young learners. Rajendra has also developed curricula on biodiversity, environmental awareness, and nature education to nurture environmentally responsible citizens.
In wildlife and tiger conservation, he has worked extensively on protecting the Satpuda landscape and its wildlife corridors in Maharashtra. He initiated the “Save Satpuda” campaign to raise awareness and mobilize communities and institutions for ecosystem protection.
Rajendra pioneered the “One Village, One Forest” programme, promoting Miyawaki forests in villages and urban areas of Khandesh. This initiative involves community participation and ecological restoration in collaboration with institutions such as SIP Academy, KBC North Maharashtra University, and Jalgaon Municipal Corporation.
He has engaged with government agencies and committees including the Regional Empowered Committee of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, the Wildlife Action Plan Task Force of Maharashtra, and District Biodiversity Committees, contributing grassroots experience and educational perspectives.
Rajendra was appointed by the Governor of Maharashtra as a member of the Management Council of KBC North Maharashtra University. He also serves as President of Vivekananda Pratishthan, a premier educational institution in Jalgaon district.
Voluntary Associations
Rajendra Nannaware is a member of the advisory committee of Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini, a Mumbai-based research and training academy. He is Executive Director of the School of Environment and Nature Conservation, a voluntary organization run by Samarpan Sanstha in Jalgaon. He is President of Vivekananda Pratishthan in Jalgaon and is closely associated with organizations including Satpuda Foundation-Amravati, Maharashtra Pakshi Mitra Sanghatana, Bombay Natural History Society Mumbai, Keshav Smruti Pratishthan Jalgaon, and Paryavaran Dakshata Manch Thane.
